BackAfter Jim retired from the Internal Revenue Service, his son, Jimmy, and he worked in real estate for about a year. Jim then sold his real estate business to Jimmy and went to work at UNUM Insurance Company. Jim worked at UNUM for about 11 years before deciding to semi-retire and move to Florida. Below is a reprint of a newspaper article published in 1997 about Jim's telecommuting to his work at UNUM. At that time, it was somewhat rare for people to work for UNUM from their homes.
